HPS – Hackbridge Primary School
NAT – National

Having been a popular three form entry primary school with a maintained nursery for many years, after an exciting expansion, from September 2018 we became a four form entry primary school, with maintained nurseries, on a split site. Located close to Hackbridge Station, we have been at the heart of our community for over 100 years.

We aim to work in partnership to enable each child to reach the highest possible standards of learning, whilst encouraging everyone to develop an enthusiasm for life, together with a sense of pride in themselves, our school and our community.

Our original ‘Hackbridge Corner’ site has a 52 part-time place (15 hours universal free education) nursery and three forms of entry (90 pupils) from Reception to Year 6.

Our new ‘London Road’ site, which will house its first pupils in the spring 2019, will have a 26 full-time place (30 hours free education (15 hours universal plus 15 hours extended entitlement)) nursery and initially one form of entry for Reception (30 pupils). In 2018/2019, our current Year 6 cohort will also be based on the new London Road site, to make use of the facilities there.

The ‘London Road’ site will expand by a year group each year until it is fully one form of entry from Reception to Year 6 by September 2024.

Across both sites, the school is very fortunate to have specialist provisions for ICT, Music, Design & Technology/Art and well-equipped libraries. In addition to these, we also have a specialist Sports Hall at our 'Hackbridge Corner' site and are very excited about the addition of a new playing field on our 'London Road' site. On both sites, we have wonderful pond areas providing an ideal space for science and quiet activities. Our Family Room at 'Hackbridge Corner' provides a venue for a range of family activities, including our Friday morning 'Stay & Play' sessions which are open to pre-school children and their parents/carers in our community.

For Reception pupils joining us from September 2018 onwards, the London Borough of Sutton will allocate 120 pupils to the school and then, after the national offer day each year, the school will determine which site each child will attend for that year and advise parents accordingly.

From September 2018, pupils within the school may be educated on either school site each year and not just at the school site which they originally begin at.

Pupils at either school site will also access the facilities and resources on either school site e.g. the new school playing field on the ‘London Road’ site or the Sports Hall on our ‘Hackbridge Corner’ site.
