Coming Soon! Enchanted Forest Outdoor Reading Courtyard

We have nearly completed our latest project and have turned a drab outdoor space behind the KS1 hall into a lovely area for the children to be able to enjoy reading in an outdoor environment.

Sarah our mural artist has been back and painted a mural scene with the theme – enchanted forest.   We have fairies and elves and even a dragon all depicting a love of literacy.  The area has been covered with artificial grass and Jack, a local artist and carpenter, has made us a wonderful 3D tree to further enhance the area.  Stage 2 of the project is about to start - we are now sourcing some interesting outdoor seating and cushions and buying outdoor storage and books for our children to use – some of this funding came from the Asda Token Award Scheme.  We also secured a small grant from the Ernest Cook Trust to enable us to purchase a good range of books.

We hope you like the photos and will update once the project is complete

Hackbridge Marsden March 19th May

All our children and staff took part in the 'Daily Mile' today, but 'marched' a bit further than we usually do, to raise money for the Royal Marsden's Oak Centre for Children and Young People.  We decorated the playground with balloons and banners and all dressed in the Marsden's colours of orange, lime green, magenta and blue.  All our classes took part from Nursery to Year 6 and had such fun taking part.

We opened a 'JustGiving' page entitled 'hackbridge Marsden March' and set ourselves a goal to reach of £500.  We are overwhelmed with the generosity and support of all our friends and families who, at the time of writing, have donated a total exceeding £2,000 for this worthwhile charity.  If you want to share in our day visit our Twitter page HackbridgePrimary@HackbridgeRocks or follow the hashtag #HackbridgeMarsdenMarch.

Our JustGiving page is still open and we would be so grateful to receive any further donations.

The Royal Marden do such fantastic work and we want to support them as much as we can.
