Weather Conditions information
Thursday 1st March
Dear Parents and Carers.
We have been watching the weather forecasts carefully and the conditions in our area deteriorate over the past couple of days so made the difficult decision to close the school today,Thursday 1st March. We made this decision due to the snow and ice that has already accumulated and also the forecast of further snow turning to heavy snow this afternoon. This has made conditions difficult for staff and pupils getting to school and we were very concerned that further snow could mean people stuck and unable to pick their children up then also making it difficult for staff to get home.
We always do what we can to keep the school open but today, unfortunately, we had to make the decision to close for the safety of all our school community. We hope you understand that this decision was not made lightly but was entirely necessary.
Please keep your child's World Book Day costume safe as we plan to hold this special event when the weather improves.
We will keep a close eye on the weather today and will update the website, Opencheck and our news item by 6pm today with information on the school status for tomorrow, Friday 2nd March.
Keep safe and warm
with kind regards
Emma Walford - Headteacher
